Job Title: Visitor Centre Manager/Executive Assistant
Location: Williams Lake, BC
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to lead and manage our visitor centre in Williams Lake. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the visitor centre including operations, customer service, and marketing and other assorted duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the visitor centre, including staffing, budgeting, and inventory management
- Develop and implement strategies to increase visitor numbers and revenue
- Ensure that the visitor centre is well-maintained and presents a positive image to the public
- Develop and execute marketing and promotional plans to increase awareness of the visitor centre and its offerings
- Collaborate with local tourism organizations and stakeholders to promote the area and attract visitors
- Prepare reports on visitor numbers, revenue, and other key performance indicators
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Centre
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or certificate in tourism, business, or a related field preferred but not required
- Experience in a management role in the tourism or customer service industry preferred
- Proven track record of success in increasing visitor numbers and revenue
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media platforms and other relevant software
- Knowledge of local tourism industry and British Columbia’s culture is a plus
This is a full-time position, candidates should be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
